Swan Maidens

The myth of The Swan Maidens has been found in folklore under many different guises and within cultures across the world . Many depict it as the Swan Maiden leaves her animal skin lying out while she bathes, a man takes it and entraps her into being his wife, when she finds it years later she leaves. It’s one of the most ancient stories in mankind and is essentially a historical example of men being the worse as well as coercion, entrapment and the loss of female agency.
